Real-Time Suitable Predictive Control Using SPaT Information from Automated Traffic Lights

Traffic intersections throughout the United States combine fixed, semi-actuated, and fully actuated intersections. In case of semi-actuated intersections, uncertainties are considered in phase duration. These due to car waiting queues pedestrian crossing. Intelligent transportation systems deployed traffic infrastructure can communicate Signal Phase Timing messages (SPaT) vehicles approaching connected automated vehicle ecosystem, fuel savings potential has been explored. Prior studies have predominantly focused on fixed time control for driver. However, signals, there is a different significant challenge randomness caused by uncertainties. We developed predictive using SPaT information communicated from The MPC-based algorithm was validated model-based design platforms such as AMBER®, Autonomie®, MATLAB®, SIMULINK®. It observed that proposed save energy single phase, multiple scenarios, compelled stopping at stop signs when employed considering communications.
